What was the “Deep Fry It!” Campaign?

For the 2012 Western Fair, the Fair’s new slogan was “This is YOUR Fair”. Keeping in line with this as well as knowing my online audience loved Fair food, I created a social campaign that asked the public “What food would YOU like to have deep fried at this year’s Fair?”. The best part – we ACTUALLY MADE the deep fried creation during Fair.

Facebook fans submitted their idea online, voted for their favourite ideas and a top 10 was selected. The top 10 then went through a voting phase where a winner was chosen.  The votes were so close that the food truck decided to make BOTH first and second place; wagon wheels and butter tarts.
